HRH Prince Andrew, Duke of York, visits the Saudi Stock Exchange

17th November 2014 (Riyadh), as part of his official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Royal Highness, Prince Andrew, Duke of York visited the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) on Monday with a delegation from the British Embassy in Riyadh led by His Excellency Ambassador Sir John Jenkins.
Adel Al-Ghamdi, CEO of the Saudi Stock Exchange welcomed Prince Andrew and the British delegation who were greeted by a number of the Exchange’s senior executives.
Al-Ghamdi began the meeting by extending a warm message of welcome to His Royal Highness and his esteemed delegation, relaying his excitement about the Duke of York’s interest in the Kingdom generally, and the Saudi Stock Exchange in particular.
As part of the agenda, Al-Ghamdi delivered an overview of the history and evolution of the Saudi capital market, and described the Exchange’s journey of development since its establishment back in 2007.
The discussions with the Duke of York also touched on various areas of the Exchange’s progressive slate of transformational initiatives, ranging from key initiatives focused on female empowerment in the workplace, equal opportunity, people and leadership development, internal and external stakeholder engagement, investor awareness, and corporate social responsibility.
Al-Ghamdi concluded the meeting by expressing his appreciation and gratitude to His Royal Highness, Prince Andrew, on behalf of the Saudi Stock Exchange, its staff and its board of directors, for his gracious visit, adding “this visit only emphasizes the Saudi Stock Exchange’s increasing visibility and its evolving role and importance in the global marketplace”.
